Our Humble Beginnings
Why We Started: The Story & Legacy of Hannah Nduta Kimani
Nduta Angels Foundation was founded in September 2008. The name Nduta is a Kikuyu verb with two profound meanings: “teach me” and “rescue me / get me out of here”. It was established in loving memory of the Founder’s late mother, Mrs. Hannah Nduta Kimani (1950–2003) — an iron lady whose legacy of absolute generosity and giving back to the community lives on.
The Foundation was built on one defining principle: personal responsibility for personal destiny. For generations, underprivileged youth have placed the burden of resolving their plight on others, but true transformation starts when young people take full charge of their lives.
From our very first days, we have provided the tangible physical basics that children need to be safe, protected, and ready to learn: clothing, school uniforms, books, stationery, and toys. Through our “Nduta Caring & Giving Factory” and “Nduta Rise to the Top” experience, we connect surplus resources with deserving Kenyan children so they feel loved, valued, and motivated to achieve academic excellence.
